Nehemiah Community Foundation

The Nehemiah Community Foundation (NCF) was created in the year 2000, as an affiliated nonprofit of the Nehemiah Companies and is a national nonprofit foundation. Its purpose is to develop philanthropic partnerships with organizations working in the areas of affordable housing, economic development, and education. In the early years, NCF was known for two initiatives: The Wealth Empowerment Program (WEP) and the Nehemiah Emerging Leaders Program (NELP).

WEP was a distance learning website dedicated to helping low-income and low-wealth individuals recover from their financial challenges, increase their financial self-sufficiency, and prepare them for home ownership.

NELP is a professional development program designed to prepare its Fellows for effective and ethical leadership in their companies and communities. Incorporated in the program is customized training for culturally diverse leaders. There are several leadership programs in the Sacramento region and NELP is an industry leader in just eight short years of existence.
