Programs
In 2009, The Nehemiah Community Foundation created The Nehemiah Emerging Leaders Program (NELP), a selective 10-month professional development program. This leadership program teaches young professionals in the Greater Sacramento region the skills and knowledge needed to effectively serve on non-profit boards and commissions. One-hundred percent of young professionals seek and obtain appointments on charitable commissions and boards throughout the area. The program is also designed to prepare its Fellows for effective and ethical leadership in their companies. NELP offers leadership training customized to the specific challenges faced by culturally diverse leaders. Fellows will graduate ready to put their talents to work in the public and private sectors, acting as catalysts for positive change in our community. The brand awareness workshop helped me to intellectually reflect upon my professional presentation and encouraged me to build upon my strengths. Knowing the science behind marketing myself creates strategy of opportunity, a third dimension of professional development.
